Kuber, the lord of wealth, was very proud and egoistic. He thought no one is rich like him. He wanted to show his wealth to Lord Shiva. One Day Kuber goes to meet Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. He invites Both of them for dinner. Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati realized there was no specific reason for this invitation, it was just to show off his wealth. Lord Shiva said I won’t be able to come leaving Kailash Parvat. Maa Parvati also said she won’t be able to come without her husband.

Lord Shiva said as we both won’t be able to come you can take Ganesh along with you for dinner. Ganesh loves to eat tasty food. Kuber was confident as he believed Ganesh is very small so he won’t eat much feeding him won’t be a difficult task. Ganesh left with his Vahan Mooshak.

Kuber, Ganesh, and Mooshak reach Kuber’s Palace. Ganesh and Mooshak looked here and there as the palace was big and beautiful. Everything was well organized. Kuber took them to the Dining Hall. There was a variety of food kept for them. The servants served food to them. Ganesh and Mooshak sat to eat food. Ganesh started eating food and the food kept in front of him was finished in some minutes.

Kuber was very surprised, so he informed his servant to get more food. Servant kept on bringing food and Ganesh kept on eating. Kuber was shocked to see this. All the food was over. Ganesh said to get more food however Kuber said all the food of the city is over from where shall I get more food. Ganesh said as I am your Guest you have to satisfy my hunger, If you don’t get more food I will eat you. Ganesh started eating the vessel, spoons, plates and everything kept there.
Kuber ran away from there. He went to Lord Shiva and requested to help him. Lord Shiva gave him a bowl of rice. Kuber took that and went to the Palace. He gave the bowl to Ganesh.
Ganesh had the rice and his hunger was satisfied.

Moral of the story: We should be very kind and down to earth. Never be egoistic and show off our wealth.
